The Shirebrook Miners Welfare 'B' Band is for people who have just started playing an instrument, it gives them chance to play with people that are at the same stage of them. When they become better players and if there is a free seat in the Senior Band then they move up. The 'B' Band consists mainly of children, but there are a few adults who also want to learn a brass instrument. To help them out a few volunteers from the Senior Band go down to help them on Wednesday nights. The conductor of the Junior Band is Graham Buckley who is a BBb Bass player in the Senior Band.
