Battle of the bands 2008: On Sunday 22nd June 2008 the band played at The Speedwell Rooms, Staveley for a Battle of the Bands Entertainments contest, organised by Ireland.C.C. Band. The contest was based on 3 elements; technical, entertainment and deportment. Our selected pieces were; The European- March, Rhapsody for Euphonium- Soloist Jayne Mason, Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy- Cornet Feature, Bui Doi- The Children's song from Miss Saigon and Pirates of the Caribbean theme. The band came 2nd in the contest overall and 1st for entertainment and deportment.
