On Saturday 21st January the band joined many other brass bands for a weekend of contests. Shirebrook band was placed 3rd in the Second Section and won the trophy for the highest placed Mining band.

On Friday 14th October the band played at St Anne's Church in Worksop in aid of Arthritis Research.
